Stock photos add appeal to your designs. Whether you are writing a blog post, creating a web page, or composing a Tweet, including visual imagery will increase user engagement. You might also want to include stock photos in your other marketing materials: including advertisements, and packaging design.
Copyright Considerations
Always be careful to adhere to copyright requirements when you use stock photos for business purposes. You don’t want to get tangled up in wrangling over license fees.
Royalty-Free
There are a number of “royalty-free” stock photo websites that sell high quality images, sometimes for very reasonable prices. So if you expect to be making some serious money from your business endeavor, don’t be afraid to check those sites out first, and support professional photographers! If you need a photo that includes the model’s face, this is usually the best way to go (check to be sure the site has verified a “model release.”)
CC0
But if you’re an “indiepreneur” or other startup on a shoestring, you might be happier with the high-quality, completely free stock photos available from some of these fantastic “CC0” licensed stock photo websites. You’ll generally find fewer images that include people’s faces, but it’s surprising how many fantastic photos you will find, for free! The photographers who captured these excellent images have generously agreed to place their works in the public domain, with no attribution required, so you can use them for whatever you like!
Also included with Your Cascadia Site
Some of the stock photos available from some of the following sites, are pre-uploaded to your website, when you create a new site with Cascadia Branding Co. Use them as a starting point, as you create new pages and blog posts!
